FC LASER STRENGTHENS ITS MODERN LASER CUTTING CAPABILITIES AND LAUNCHES FIVE NEW APPRENTICESHIP SCHEMES
- The new Bystronic CO2 Lasers are capable of 4M cutting of materials that are up to 25mm thick.
- The new Bystronic Fibre Laser is the latest technology to process thinner gauge materials much faster than conventional solid state CO2s.
FC Laser Ltd, a leading precision laser cutting company and recent winner of the Most Promising New Business Award at the Best of Derbyshire Business Awards, today announced that it has strengthened its modern laser cutting capabilities with the latest additions of two new Bystronic CO2 Lasers and one Bystronic Fibre Laser.
FC Laser’s customers, who come from a wide range of sectors such as the nuclear, architectural, prestige automotive and shop fitting industries, will benefit from the company’s improvements in its production capacities. The company is now better placed to manage the precise and exacting demands of customers who require parts in extremely short lead times. In addition, FC Laser now offers a folding service with two Bystronic presses along with welding and drilling operations that are carried out on site.
These additional services have enabled FC Laser to launch five new Technical and Administration Apprentice Schemes in partnership with Learning Unlimited and Training Services. The aim of the schemes is to nurture and develop the skill and talent of students in metalworking and drawing, as well as administration. This in turn will help secure a supply of skilled young recruits throughout the business from sales to the production departments.
Speaking about the new apprenticeship schemes, Steve Connolly, FC Laser’s sales manager said,
‘We have worked closely with Learning Unlimited and Training Services to ensure that our new Technical and Administration Apprentice Schemes offer an exciting and comprehensive training package that also meets with our business requirements. It is vital that we invest in our staff and equipment to ensure that we are reliable supplier who can offer our customers the best service and products using the latest technology that enables us to deliver one of the best cut qualities currently available in the industry.’
The apprentices will work towards an NVQ III Business Administration and NVQ III Fabrication, Welding and Mechanical Services qualification and on completing their training, will be able to apply for a permanent role with the company. Two apprentices are currently on board. Emma Collins is an Administration Apprentice who is working towards a position in the sales department, while Jack Middleton has received training in machine setting. Three more apprentices will join the company in August and they will be rotated through the various departments in the business.
